Our Services

  • We meet with you in your home to view your space, discuss your project and gather all the information we need to get back to you with a price estimate.

  • Once your project is confirmed, our in-house designer Natalie, collaborates with you to create a custom design plan outlining colours, textures and specific products for your space. You’ll be provided with mood boards, layout plans and sample finishes.

  • Throughout the project we take care of everything, meaning you don’t have to lift a finger. The whole build process is stress-free and has minimal disruption to your busy life.

  • If your project requires a consent, we work with our Architecture partners to draw up plans and submit all required information to your Council on your behalf.

  • We have a trusted supply network and can source any fixtures and finishes, using local where possible, to bring your project to life.

  • Not only do we take care of all the above in your project, we are also the carpenters. Josh is a Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP) with 20 years experience in the building industry and an impeccable eye for detail.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Form & Dwell is a Wellington based design and build company specialising in kitchen, bathroom, and laundry remodels. We start with a design and estimate consultation, then our in-house designer works with you to finalise the design before providing an updated estimate. From there we work on a charge-up basis through the build, so you always have full transparency on costs.

  • Yes, Form & Dwell offers a full design and build service. After your initial consultation, we work closely with you through the design process to create your new space, then provide an updated estimate before moving into the build and project management through to final handover, all under one roof.

  • Having design and build under one team means your designer and builder are working from the same page from day one, so the design suits how the space will actually be built. It also means fewer miscommunications and a smoother, more efficient process from start to finish.

  • Look for a contractor who is a Licensed Building Practitioner, provides a written contract and disclosure statement, and is upfront about pricing. Form & Dwell provides all of this as standard for every build.

  • Budget, layout, plumbing and electrical requirements, and material lead times are all key factors. A design and estimate consultation is the best starting point to understand what’s involved for your specific space.

  • Once your project is confirmed, our in-house designer works closely with you to develop the look and feel of your space, including colours, textures, and product selections tailored to your home. You’ll come away with a clear design plan and an updated estimate before the build begins, so there are no surprises once work starts.

  • Costs vary depending on scope, materials, and site conditions. We provide a preliminary estimate at your design and estimate consultation, then an updated estimate once the design stage is complete and selections are confirmed. From there we work on a charge-up basis through the build, so you always have visibility on actual costs as the project progresses. We always recommend allowing a contingency of at least 10-15% for unforeseen costs, which is common with these kinds of projects.

  • Charge-up means you’re billed for actual labour, materials, and trades used, rather than a fixed lump sum. It gives you transparency and avoids the inflated buffers often built into fixed quotes to cover contractor risk.

  • Some projects require consent, for example if installing a membrane or making structural changes, and others don’t. We’ll advise you on this during your consultation, and can manage the consent process with our architecture partners if needed.

  • Timelines depend on the scope of work and whether council consent is required. During your consultation we’ll give you a clearer timeframe based on your specific project, and confirm this again once design and materials are finalised.
